I’m still not 100% sure how/why it happened because I have read a number of articles with headlines ranging from “Batista sacked as Argentina coach” to “Sergio Batista resigns as coach of Argentina”. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t exactly his biggest fan but I’m definitely not qualified enough to say whether he should have stayed or not so I’ll leave it at that.
But now the question is, who’s gonna take over from Batista?
When your computer says its 4’C outside, believe it. Never trust a puddle. There is such a thing as a pavement/sidewalk river. An umbrella in the wind is not your friend. Wellington Boots are a necessity.
I’m feeling rather sulky today…I missed the Barca match last night because they weren’t broadcasting it here, I had to go back to University today which not only means work but also moving back into res (dorms, hostel, whatever you call it), I’m missing the Copa America final because I have nowhere to watch it AND, its raining…FML
I guess it’s just one of those days…but hey, at least they fixed the heater in my room.
So my dearest dear followers, I would like to know from you…Should I keep this tumblr exclusively for football related posts and create a new one for all my other stuff or, should I just put all my posts on here? I’m rather leaning towards creating a separate one but I would like to know what you guys think :)
Ok, so obviously I’m really upset that Argentina was knocked out of the Copa. I was really hoping that they were going to make it far. But, what’s done is done and I am amazingly proud of them nonetheless!!
I know it doesn’t make it any better but I will say that I’m glad it was Uruguay who knocked us out. They were worthy opponents and I really respect them as team. Well done to them!
It was one heck of an exciting match though, WOW! I mean, it had goals, fouls, red and yellow cards, disallowed goals, extra time, penalties…Sheesh, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
I should probably mention that I really REALLY REALLY don’t like games that come down to penalties, but then again, who does…In the end though, Muslera did make a good save and that’s just the way it is. People shouldn’t blame Tevez for missing, they should praise Muslera for doing his job well.
So, let’s not forget things like Higuain’s beautiful goal and the Messi magic behind it.
And even though they lost, the bond they have as a team shone through. And that is truly beautiful…
So, the Rugby World Cup starts in September and here in South Africa we’re already preparing. You can’t go into a shop without seeing Rugby jerseys, beanies, scarf’s, slippers, hats, flags etc etc etc. So I have decided to compare my favourite sport: Football, to what is debatably South Africa’s favourite sport: Rugby.
Nothing serious of course, just for funsies! :)
So! My first question is…Who make better underwear models? Italian Footballers or Italian Rugby Players?
Firstly let me just say, Thank the Messiah that Batista finally came to his senses! Hopefully he’s realised now that Aguero, Higuain and Di Maria are indispensable and should always be in the starting line up!
Now with that out of the way: WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO they won!!!! I’m so proud of all of them! But especially Messi! It makes me so happy to see a smile on his face again!
The game was truly beautiful to watch for any Argentinian fan. It got off to a bit of a slow start but after Aguero’s opening goal they were sailing!
Aguero really is a brilliant striker, both his goals were awesome! Credit to Di Maria as well for scoring a great one!
But of course, number 1 for me definitely has to be Messi. The amazing runs and beautiful assists that came out of him in this match were a sight to behold. I bet everyone who was hating on him in the last match feels like quite an idiot now…Just shows you how flaky some fans can be.
Show him some love boys :)
Also, I had to give a little “Aw” when he fell on the goalkeeper and immediately checked to see if he was ok :) That’s my boy! Caring as always…
And so with that the boys are back! Hopefully we will do even better in the next round and show everybody just what we’re really made of!
I feel like I need to make a Keisuke Honda appreciation post, I really miss him!! :(:( It’s terrible that the Japan NT didn’t get to play in the Copa because I literally haven’t watched him play a match since the World Cup. It’s not my fault though considering he plays in Russia of all places! Why don’t they broadcast the Russian league in South Africa??
Anyways I really miss seeing him around, he truly is both beautiful to watch and look at.
There are about a million transfer rumours buzzing around him at the moment so hopefully he’ll be moving to club I can actually watch :)
